Raspberry Pi Foundation Launched a Computer Hardware Priced at just $5

Raspberry Pi Foundation, the makers of Raspberry Pi released a fully functioning computer- Raspberry Pi Zero ,which is just available for $5. Zero is cheaper for its small size. The Raspberry Pi Zero is about the size of a stick of chewing gum but comes with endless possibilities for everyone from programmers looking to create fun new projects to students learning about programming in the classroom.

Raspberry Pi Zero featurs:

  • A Broadcom BCM2835 application processor
  • 1GHz ARM11 core (40% faster than Raspberry Pi 1)
  • 512MB of LPDDR2 SDRAM
  • A micro-SD card slot
  • A mini-HDMI socket for 1080p60 video output
  • Micro-USB sockets for data and power
  • An unpopulated 40-pin GPIO header
  • Identical pinout to Model A+/B+/2B
  • An unpopulated composite video header
  • Our smallest ever form factor, at 65mm x 30mm x 5m

Compared with the firtst generation of raspberry pie , Zero’s speed improves 40%, and it can run Raspbian system (a Linux system for raspberry pie board). However, what you need to pay attention to is Zero hasn’t standard USB and Ethernet port, so you need to purchase a USB hub to connect peripherals, and network.
