Starting today, customers can talk to Element14 about reconfiguring the Pi's board layout, incorporating additional functionality onto the PCB,adding or removing headers and connectors,adding or removing interfaces, and changing the configuration of the board as a whole.

No firm details were provided about costs and lead times both depend on the requested modifications and number of units ordered,according to Element14 Richard Curtin.

Talking by Car Embedded System - Drivers Distraction Up to 27 Seconds

Many years ago now there was a heated discussion and laws suggested for preventing drivers from using phone while driving.In the UK,there had a discussion about using a phone while driving which make hands-free kits become more and popular. And more manufacturers integrated hands-free embeded operation sysyem into the vehicles, bypassing the need for any accessories.



While such solutions are far better than holding a phone while driving, it turns out they still form a serious distraction for drivers. Sometimes they can stop concentration for almost half a minute.That’s what two studies(PDF) carried out at the University of Utah for the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety (formerly the American Automobile Association) discovered.For example, dialing a phone number, sending a text,changing music tracks, using one of the personal assistants offered by brand of Microsoft, Apple, and Google for some task.


The loss of concentration for driving lasted between 15 and 27 seconds AAA Foundation also come up with a ratings system for different actions, with the scale being 1 mild distraction, 2 moderate distraction, 3 high distraction, 4 very high dis- traction, and 5 maximum distraction.It’s possible these findings will lead to vehicle embeded systems being banned .However, it could lead to more serious design for car embedded systems so as to limit distraction as much as possible.

Google Might Be Building Its Android Vehicel System

Google might be building its own vehicle infotainment system. Mentions of Android Automotive in the document first appeared in Android 5.1, but looks like it went unnoticed. Google is now on its second revision of the Automotive requirements which offers a peek into the ongoing work on bringing the Android OS to another form. This vehicle system may be far more powerful than Android Auto. This information was hinted with reference in of  Android Compatibility Definition Document which was labelled as Android Automotive. 

According to a report by ArsTechnica,  Android Automotive implementation refers to a vehicle head unit running Android as an infotainment functionality. In addition, the report also points out that this is not for the Android Auto app, but is rather for a Google-certified car operating system that would run directly on the car’s hardware, like Toyota, GM.
Overall, the compatibility test doesn’t mention much content of the outline . Most are about framework of the electronic equipment.There's been speculation that this system can  used by the car in the OAA ( Open Automotive Alliance ). 
There is also a voicethat  the system could also be used in Google self-driving car, hit the market in 2017 with production models. But in terms of the current information,it's far  away from talking about product's commercialization.
